Pakistan beat England by 87 runs, make it two wins from two

Rawalpindi: Pakistan recorded their second straight win in the tri-series, defeating England by 87 runs at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a commanding 302 for 9 in their allotted overs. The hosts built their total on a solid top-order display before the middle order accelerated in the final overs to set England a stiff target.

In reply, England were bowled out for 215, never recovering from a disciplined Pakistan bowling attack that struck at regular intervals. Arafat Minhas was the star of the show, claiming figures of 6 for 40 to rip through the England batting line-up.

Minhas also starred with the bat, smashing 59 off 58 balls to anchor the innings at a crucial stage. His all-round performance earned him the Player of the Match award.

The victory marks Pakistan’s second consecutive win in the tri-series and will boost confidence ahead of the remaining fixtures. The team’s blend of youth and experience appears to be clicking, with the bowling unit in particular looking in fine rhythm.

Pakistan will now look to carry this momentum forward as the series progresses.
